Adding Fields to Objects

This guide explains how to add fields to objects within a template. During data migration, only the selected object fields are migrated.

Perserving Relationships

To preserve the link between parent and child records during migration, migrated child records must include the Relationship Field that connects them to their parent. This applies to both Master-Detail and Lookup relationships. To learn more about this, see the following article.

Select Template

  1. Click Templates from the left sidebar menu.

  2. Click the template to add object fields to.

Data Masking

Data Masking allows you to mask sensitive fields during migration by replacing them with random data before they are copied to the target organization. To learn more about Data Masking and how to apply it to a field, see the following article.

  1. Click the object to add fields to.

  2. The Object's Field List opens on the right side of the designer.

  3. Search or scroll to find the fields to add.

  4. Check the checkbox next to each field to add.

  5. Click Save once all the fields to add have been checked.

  6. The Fields count for the object will update to reflect the new number of selected fields.

  7. Repeat this process to add as many fields to objects as you need.

Save Template

Once you are done adding fields to objects:

  1. Click Save template to save your changes.
