Encryption Key Storage Migration
Encryption keys are now stored securely within the B&A database and protected by AWS KMS, improving security and ensuring persistence across sandbox refreshes.
For Hosted Customers:
Automatic, seamless migration
For On-Premise Customers:
Generate 32-byte base64 key: openssl rand -base64 32
Add key to docker-compose: LOCAL_ORGANIZATION_ENCRYPTION_KEY=<key>
Upgrade app to complete migration
Sandbox backups remain accessible post-refresh using update token
Salesforce Package is Now Optional
The Flosum Backup package is no longer required to use core features of B&A.
Install only if needed for:
Time Machine: Compare/restore field-level changes over time
In-org Search: Search and explore backup/archived data directly in Salesforce
Install/Upgrade via:
Settings > Integrations Tab
Installation is manual and handled by Salesforce; allow processing time.

Restore Job: New Data Tab
Gain deeper visibility into restore outcomes with a new Data tab on each Restore Job.
Metrics Tracked:
Total | Restored | Skipped | Restore Failed
Status Definitions:
Restored: Inserted or updated successfully
Skipped: Non-restorable (e.g., Person Contacts or manual share records)
Failed: Errors such as unresolved lookups
Retained for 7 days; supports detailed troubleshooting and validation
Retain Parent While Archiving Children
Archive child records without archiving the parent. Now supported in all archive templates.
Use Cases:
Archive attachments while retaining Cases/Opportunities
Archive ContentDocuments while preserving parent records across hierarchies (e.g., Case > Email > File)
How to Enable:
Toggle Retain Parent in the "Add Child Objects" section when creating a template

Sandbox Backup Retention Post-Refresh
Backups from a pre-refresh sandbox are now usable even after a refresh.
Benefits:
Backups remain accessible without reconfiguration
Archived data can be restored into the refreshed sandbox
Prevents loss of backup continuity in development/test environments
Enhancements
Bug Fixes
Sync Job Schedule: Fixed cron expression issues causing jobs like "First Monday" or "Last Friday" to run daily
Filter Input: Declarative filter field now maintains focus during typing
For help with implementation, visit the Backup & Archive Documentation or contact your CSM.
