# Creating a Group

## Overview
In Flosum Global Settings, a Group is a way to assign a Role to a specific set of users. This article explains how to create a Group. Since a Role is assigned to a Group when it is created, a Role with the required permissions must already exist.

## Create a Group

### Access Global Settings
1. From any **Flosum Cloud App**, click the **App Switcher** icon at the top of the left sidebar menu.
2. Click **Global Settings**.
3. The **Global Settings** app will open in a new tab.

### Create Group
1. Click **Groups** from the sidebar menu.
2. Click **Create**.
3. Enter a **Group Name**.
4. Enter a **Description** for the group.
5. Click the **Role** dropdown.
6. Select the role to assign to the group.
7. Click **Create.**
8. The new group you created now appears in the list of groups.
